TALK: Juliet Swann on "Climate Change after Copenhagen" (by FoE Edinburgh)

Date of Event:
Thursday, 28 January, 2010
Venue:
Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh
Time :
7.30pm
After the disappointing result at Copenhagen, campaigners could be forgiven for asking why we bothered. Hear from Friends of the Earth Scotland's Head of Projects and Campaigns about what Copenhagen was all about anyway, discuss the theories about why no binding agreement was reached, and hear what happens now. The role Friends of the Earth play, internationally, in Europe, in the UK as a whole and in Scotland, and what Friends of the Earth Scotland have planned will also be considered.

Information on the speaker:

Juliet has worked for Friends of the Earth Scotland since last September. Previously she worked in the parliamentary team at RSPB Scotland and was involved extensively in the Stop Climate Chaos Scotland campaign around the Climate Change (Scotland) Act. A non-driving, happy chicken eating, Guardian reading, tequila drinking, cat lover, her favourite thing about working at Friends of the Earth Scotland is that she works with a team of people who share her environmental ethics and are as interested in global equality and justice as she is.
