2.30pm to 4.30pmOn Saturday the 21st of November, Amnesty International UK and Friends of the Earth Scotland will be hosting an event, entitled "Oil, the Environment & Human Rights".
The event will feature a talk by Nnimmo Bassey, human rights and environment activist and Director of Friends of the Earth Nigeria. The talk will be followed by presentations from Amnesty and Friends of the Earth Scotland on their work around oil, the environment and human rights, focusing in particular on oil extraction in the Niger Delta. There will then be a Q&A and discussion session, to explore related issues such as approaches to the law, corporate accountability and community empowerment.
